The Face Effect

The Face Effect is a research project from the Center for Applied AI (CAAI) which identified a novel facial bias in the U.S. Criminal Justice System using applied artificial intelligence. They needed a webpage which communicated their findings and methodology to a public audience. In collaboration with a small design team, I supported this project through designing layouts, illustrations, and graphic elements, collecting user research, and writing content.

My Role: Visual Designer, Research Assistant

MODA Magazine

From 2022-2023 I worked as Editor in Chief for MODA Magazine, the student print fashion publication at the University of Chicago.

Phoenix Sustainability Initiative (PSI) x MODA Magazine collaboration for Winter 2023 issue, Apocalypse:

These pieces were constructed by PSI and MODA Magazine teams using recycled materials. The designs work to reimagine contemporary fashion trends, like the miu miu mini skirt, with trash materials. This shoot was featured in winter 2023’s apocalyptic theme to draw attention to the increasing rate of global warming and need to take care of our planet. I led this collaboration and supported in styling, beauty, photography, and set design.

Tea party photoshoot for Fall 2022, Down the Rabbit Hole:

This project worked to reimagine the tea party scene from Alice in Wonderland. I contributed in assembling the tea party set, assisting the styling team, and designing visual content.
